Thomas Sidney Bell (1883-1960) was born in Illinois and lived in various parts of the United States until his death in Pasadena, California. He was the sole member of the University of New Mexico's graduating class of 1905, the first student to graduate with a college degree from this institution, and the first student from the University of New Mexico to become a Rhodes Scholar and attend Lincoln College, Oxford.
